Info
As an engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, I created the contact sensor / stabilizer for the rock drill on Mars Science Laboratory. I earned my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering as a member of the Biomimetic Robotics Lab at MIT. As an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Program in Computing (PIC) of the UCLA Department of Mathematics, I taught programming courses (Java, C++, and Python) and did research in robotics and applied math. From 2018-2025, I was an Assistant/Associate Professor in the BioResource and Agricultural Engineering Department at Cal Poly; I taught classes in mechanical engineering design, engineering economics, and linear programming. Since 2018, I've been a maintainer of SciPy, the scientific computing library for Python, focusing on `scipy.stats`. My channel is a collection of videos made while wearing these various hats!
