The AICFVE mission is to elevate visual media production in China to a world-class standard by promoting compelling storytelling and cutting-edge technology.

At our core, we are an innovation lab that researches and develops new imaging tools, techniques and technologies.  We maintain a symbiotic relationship with the Chinese industry and our research is driven by its needs.

Where appropriate, we champion the use of advanced technology in media production and provide skills training to China’s current and future generations of visual storytellers. 

Through all our work, we constantly seek to build bridges between the Chinese scientific, academic and professional communities and leading international expertise.

The AICFVE was founded in 2016 by the Beijing government and is spearheaded by China’s leading film education institution, the Beijing Film Academy.
