Info
The Spatial Analysis Lab is a part of the Broader Impacts Group at the University of Montana. We work closely with Montana Natural Heritage Program (MTNHP) on Montana land cover with theme lead responsibilities for the Montana State Library.
The lab was founded in 1991 by Roland L. Redmond (Division of Biological Sciences) with the Montana Gap Analysis Project its primary undertaking. Over the years, the lab has worked on a wide variety of mapping projects that involved field surveys, modeling and analysis for a variety of state and federal partners. Current work in the lab includes the use of multi/hyperspectral imagery to map vegetation, developing scalable processing methods with high-performance computing, and form development for ecological data collection.
