आज के समय की सबसे बड़ी शक्ति ज्ञान ही है। ज्ञान जितना देखने में छोटा, उतनी ही व्यापकता लिए हुए है। ज्ञान का क्षेत्र बहुत विशाल है। यह जीवन-पर्यंत चलता है। आज वही देश सबसे कामयाब है जिसके पास ज्ञान की अद्भुत शक्ति है। यह ज्ञान ही है जो मनुष्य को अन्य जीव-जन्तुओं से श्रेष्ठ बनाता है।

एक बहुत ही प्रसिद्ध कहावत है कि “ज्ञान ही शक्ति है”, जिसका अर्थ है कि ज्ञान में काफी शक्ति है और यह संसार की सभी भौतिक शक्तियों को जीतने की क्षमता रखता है। यदि व्यक्ति को एक बार केवल ज्ञान की शक्ति प्राप्त हो जाए, तो उसे किसी वस्तु से डरने की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
