Dr. Marcus Zane grew up chasing conspiracies and hidden patterns in the world. A friend of his father pulled him into private security, where his instincts caught the attention of the Null Horizon Authority (NHA)—a covert research force studying Xeno Matter and reality-breaking events.

Marcus rose from security, to task forces, eventually into the labs, where he discovered a xeno-reactive painting that showed him his future and led him to an ancient prophecy. To understand it, he built the Veil.
